THIS TRACTOR HAS BEEN SOLD!

IT WILL BE RESIDING IN SOUTHERN GEORGIA!

John Deere 720 LP Standard

One of only 345 produced!

  • Serial 7220468- Black Dash
  • Very Original Tractor
  • Tires: Rear 16.9-30" RH original Goodyear 45 deg weather cracked but serviceable; no fluid in tire
  •                                 LH newer Goodyear wavy tread 80% tread in very good condition; has fluid but not leaking
  •          Front 7.50-18" 3 rib in very good condition (new inner tube in the RH tire)
  • ALL TIRES HOLD AIR WITHOUT LEAKS
  • Engine is in excellent running condition; exhaust valves noise is audible with a sometimes 'spitting' which I've been told is an indication of exhaust valves needing to be ground but it obviously has great compression as it starts easy and has plenty of power
  • No smoke or noticeable blow-by: Starts easily and runs out strong with Oil pressure between M-H
  • Rebuilt water pump (resurfaced impeller, new seal & bearing assembly along with gaskets & O-Rings)
  • LP system in working order without any leaks: Regulator works properly on Vapor or Liquid without any problems
  • Generator is rebuilt and has a new voltage regulator
  • All gears shift in and out properly without any un-normal gear/bearing noise
  • PTO works but has some noise (I believe it's in the bevel gear area in the transmission) noisy but operates properly
  • Single Hydraulic Remote with outlet (have not tested)
  • Float-Ride seat intact, but will need to be rebuilt: seat cushions are used but in good condition (no rips/tears)
  • Known Leaks: Rear axle seals (I suspect that the transmission is overfull possibly contributing to the leaks...I have only checked the oil not changed/or/drained it), idler shaft for the powr-trol pump not bad but noticable (there is an O-ring on the shaft which to replace one must remove the hydraulic pump):
  • When I got the tractor running & rebuilt the water pump there was a noticable leak on the lower left hand side of the radiator. I bought 2 cans of Bars stop leak and after 30mins of run time the leaks has stopped and hasn't leaked since (it's dry...no seeping or moisture present)
  • Sheet metal- complete
  • nosecone shows damage as pictured: in the right hands it is fixable...but mine aren't the right ones
  • Rear fenders: both fenders have bends but are not 'crumpled' which would be much easier to straighten
  • Lights: All intact: LH light does not work (I haven't tested it to see if the bulb is bad or faulty wiring); RH headlight works properly: Rear light is not wired up but is intact (all lights are sealed beam); dash lamps are not working but intact
  • Tachometer doesn't work as the cable twisted off inside the cable; temperature gauge also is non-functional
  • Power Steering works very nice in both directions just as it is supposed to
  • There are no cracks/repairs/welds on the tractor other than evidence of a small weld on the rh steering spindle arm...but is only a remnant of an old weld...it would take 2 minutes with a grinder to have it unnoticeable after painting
  • Original paint & decals...this tractor is not repainted (except for some old 'touch up' on the nose cone)
  • Battery box is in good original condition and is not 'rusted out'
  • Drawbar has been broken and welded as shown in set of pictures from August 2nd

The 720 LP Standard has just completed a 42 mile antique tractor ride so I am well aware of how it runs and drives. I must say that a nice original tractor like this attracts a lot of attention from tractor enthusiasts of all types. There were only 345 of these 720LP Standard tractors built total....this one is a black dash which would put it in the more rare and most desirable of the bunch....how many of these have you seen lately?

I have described this tractor to the best of my knowledge and abilities. I have over 290 positive feedback ratings for a reason...honesty and fairness. Bid with confidence! I want the person bidding/buying this tractor to be aware of the condition and knowing what to expect when they see it in person. You are welcome to inspect the tractor in person if you like as arranged. If you are unable to view the tractor before the end of the auction by all means ask any reasonable question and I will be happy to answer and provide additional pictures if necessary.

Tractor must be picked up within 30 days of end of the auction (stored inside where it is currently) unless prior arrangements have been made with me.
